ADVERTISING ON THIS SITE If your business is BS27-based, you can have a free "lineage" entry in the A to Z pages, simply send over a few lines of descriptive text, contact email, address and local telephone number, plus a link to your web site if you have one, and it will be added to the site free of charge. You can use the submission form for this. Check the business A-Z or accommodation listings to see what other people have written, if you need inspiration. To give you some idea of the number of visitors this site receives, the green area of the graph below shows the number of weekly page loads over the period July 2005 to July 2006 - around 3000 pages viewed every week in summer, dropping to around 1000 in winter. In 2008 the site received 144,102 page loads, almost 400 per day. To see the current live stats, go to www.statcounter.com and log in as "cheddarvillage" with password "cheddar". Click on the little histogram icon to see visitor numbers summarised by week, month or year.
BANNER ADVERTISING For Cheddar-based or strongly Cheddar-Village-related businesses there is also the possibility to have a banner advertisement appear in the main pages' margin. The cost is £20 per year + VAT including setting up or changing an annual ad. You can track its effectiveness in your web site statistics service by monitoring hits received from cheddarvillage.co.uk. If you advertised on the cheddarsomerset.co.uk site please get in touch to reinstate your advert artwork here. Contact the webmaster to set this up. If you advertise in the printed Cheddar Village Map and Guide, your ad artwork can also be placed on this site; contact Keith Landon about that when booking your space. You can also advertise here with Google
Adwords if your site is closely linked to
the subject matter of Cheddar Village. You will be able to
create an advert for your business which will often appear
in the footer or margin of these pages and also on many other
web sites that show Google adverts. Your ad will then also
be shown to users of Google Search, Google Gmail, Froogle,
and Google Desktop Search, as well as on the sites of Google's
partner companies (including AOL, Lycos, and Ask Jeeves).
